We were asked to take on the bold task of transforming the old Toll office building into a modern office and training facility for Kiwirail. This included the exterior up-grades as well, from the new entry, stairs, canopy, landscape works and carparking. Along with the design challenges we had to take into consideration keeping it on budget. We re-finished the building in a strong darker colour which blends into the environment. The main entry was stripped back to the base structure. We re-built a new squared off canopy bringing in timber finishes. New Stairs were formed to comply with NZBC standards. Finished off with a corten steel balustrade complimenting the warm timber tones.
